Brain train­ing start-up Peak secures $7m Series A fund­ing (star­tups UK):

Lon­don-based brain train­ing app Peak has closed a $7m Series A round led by Cre­an­dum – known for its ear­ly invest­ment in Spo­ti­fy – with par­tic­i­pa­tion from exist­ing investors DN Cap­i­tal, Lon­don Ven­ture Part­ners (LVP) and Qual­comm Ventures.”

Peak co-founder and CEO, Ita­mar Lesu­isse, com­ment­ed: “…With the rise in the pop­u­lar­i­ty of using smart­phones to mon­i­tor phys­i­cal health, it’s only a mat­ter of time before data relat­ing to cog­ni­tive well being is giv­en an equal lev­el of val­ue and credence.”

Mem­o­ra­do rais­es $3.3M (Ven­ture Beat):

Berlin-based Mem­o­ra­do has grown to over 3.5 mil­lion mem­bers since its launch one year ago through min­i­mal spend and most­ly by word of mouth. The com­pa­ny believes that cog­ni­tive enhance­ment will be the mega­trend of the 21st cen­tu­ry. Pro­vid­ing a solu­tion to appeal to peo­ple world­wide is its pri­ma­ry goal, call­ing its solu­tion “casu­al games with a seri­ous purpose.”
