Dr. Ken­neth Kosik on A Tech-Fit Program in the Brain Shop

Dr. Kosik will dis­cuss A Tech-Fit Pro­gram in the Brain Shop, as part of the ses­sion Which pro­fes­sional groups are best posi­tioned to become main­stream “brain fit­ness coach­es”? at the upcom­ing 2012 Sharp­Brains Vir­tu­al Sum­mit (June 7–14th, 2012).

Dr. Kosik is the Co-Direc­tor of UCSB Neu­ro­science Research Insti­tute and Founder of CFIT, now a pro­gram of San­ta Bar­bara Cot­tage Hos­pi­tal renamed the Cot­tage Cen­ter for Brain Fit­ness. He received his M.D. degree from the Med­ical Col­lege of Penn­syl­va­nia, com­pleted a neu­rol­ogy res­i­dency from Tufts New Eng­land Med­ical Cen­ter, and held var­i­ous appoint­ments at the Har­vard Med­ical School. In the fall of 2004 he assumed the co-direc­tor­ship of the Neu­ro­science Research Insti­tute and the Har­ri­man Chair at the Uni­ver­sity of Cal­i­for­nia San­ta Bar­bara. He has received mul­ti­ple awards, includ­ing a Whitak­er Health Sci­ences Award from Mass­a­chu­setts Insti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy, the Derek Den­ny-Brown Neu­ro­log­i­cal Schol­ar Award from the Amer­i­can Neu­ro­log­i­cal Asso­ci­a­tion, the Zenith Award from the Alzheimer’s Asso­ci­a­tion, and a NASA Group Achieve­ment Award.
